FOURTH EVENING OF MIRACLES MAY 27, 2013 MARS DISCOVERY DISTRICT HONOURING GERDA FRIEBERG The mission of the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind is to enable visually impaired Israeli veterans and civilians to achieve independence and mobility through partnerships with their faithful guide dog companions. Here is some more info on the event As part of our 2013 Campaign we will include within our mission a new project The Childrens Integration Program to help blind and visually impaired children and their families. This project is being implemented by Eliya, an Israeli organization which provides full week rehabilitation programs to meet the needs of blind and visually impaired children up to the age of six. The Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind and Eliya are in their second year of a partnership project designed to increase blind childrens mobility aids skills. This project would then make it possible for these children to obtain career change dogs, dogs who have not qualified as guide dogs at the age of one, as pets and eventually be assisted by a guide dog later in life. The culminating event of this campaign will be our Fourth Evening of Miracles on May 27th at MaRS Discovery District. On this occasion we will be honoring Mrs. Gerda Frieberg, a woman of Integrity, Grace and Dignity for her untiring contribution and dedication to the Community. The New York Times acclaimed mezzo soprano Laurie Rubin, blind from birth, will delight us with her music and her life stories and Harvey Atkin will entertain us at the Master of Ceremony. Help us continue with our mission. We are the Bridge between the Sighted and Unsighted world TICKETS: $180 2 for $300 We hope to see you all there
